Lip filler treatments

What are lip filler treatments?

Lips comes in all shapes and sizes and many of us have thinner lips than we’d like. Also as we grow older our lips become thinner, flatter and less defined as our bodies produce less of the hyaluronic acid that’s essential for volume and shape. At Dr Kay Aesthetics we understand how important shape and definition of the lips and how they can significantly change your appearance. We use advanced and reputable brands with proven track record such as for long-lasting results.

What does the lip filler procedure involve?

Small quantities of hyaluronic acid filler are injected into the border of the lips or body of the lip depending on the desired effect. The process can be uncomfortable as lips can be sensitive, so topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to reduce any discomfort. The filler also contains the local anaesthetic lidocaine which should further help reduce discomfort. The procedure takes roughly 30 minutes with instant results.

What is the result?

The lips can be defined and their shape can be enhanced. This treatment is also ideal for reducing lines and creases around the mouth area (also known as 'smoker’s lines"). Results last approximately 6-9 months.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Swelling and redness are common side effects, but these are usually temporary and subside soon afterwards.
